Early in 2006, Portland Metro, the Oregon Department of Transportation, Tri-Met and many other public and private partners launched a campaign to promote to reduce single-person car trips as part of a larger solution to regional traffic congestion. Cappelli Miles joined the team to develop and implement creative and media strategy.
The result is “Drive Less - Save More,” which encourages people to think before they drive and use trip-chaining to reduce trips. The campaign uses broadcast, outdoor, and social media and events to encourage drivers to trip chain or combine multiple errands into single trips, and promotes travel options like public transit, car pooling, biking and walking.
